Organising Your Wardrobe | Making Space ♡

Something that I have always found myself struggling with is wardrobe space, and fitting all of my clothes into one tight space. I also have struggled with space in my bedroom because of my wardrobe being in the way. So, I decided to scrap my wardrobe altogether and start completely fresh by organising my clothes in a better way.

If you are like me and can find yourself in a very cluttered, unorganised mess, then this post is the one for you to help you de-clutter and organise your wardrobe in a much better way. It will save so much time when picking out an outfit, and trying to put clothes back when you decide that they don't go. So without anymore hesitation here is how I rearranged my wardrobe to make more space!

Trousers
When rearranging my clothes, something I noticed was that my trousers were very crammed if I just shoved them on coat hangers. So, what I did instead was put them folded out onto four shelves, which really helped make more space on my clothing rack and kept my trousers from becoming creased. I arranged my trousers so that each shelf is for a certain occasion/style - leggings at the top, then onto shorts, and then the jeans are colour coordinated, so dark jeans at the top and light at the bottom. The very bottom shelve is jogging bottoms/pyjamas that I just lounge around the house in. I keep my travel bag next to my trouser rack and also my slippers fit into the pockets at the side of the trouser rack. This rack/shelving storage idea for my trousers is really helpful as it's small and leaves a lot of space around it.

Shoes
Underneath my main clothing rail, I have my shoe rack. My shoe rack fits perfectly underneath the clothing rack and is kept hidden out the way so that I don't trip over it and it doesn't get in the way of my bedroom. It leaves a lot of space as it runs straight underneath my clothes rail. I keep all of my shoes apart from my slippers on the shoe rack and I find it really useful to be able to have all of my shoes lined up in front of me so that I can see them all to pick which pair I'd like to wear. My shoes used to all be thrown into the bottom of my wardrobe and it would be a nightmare trying to find that one pair of shoes, so this shoe rack really does help me keep my shoes organised and neat. I keep my trainers in 2's and then it goes onto my boots which I have separately, and then onto heels which are also separate/in 1's.

Lingerie

I keep my lingerie in a little box that is on the top of my trousers rack. It is on the very top shelf, so on top of the actual rack, and it's a thin, light material handwoven box that looks really nice and modern in my bedroom. It is very neat and keeps my bedroom looking tidy, and I neatly fold all of my lingerie and put it into the box for when I need it so I can just quickly get it! It keeps everything in good condition and basically out of the way so my bedroom looks less cluttered!

Clothes! Dresses, Tops, Skirts, Jackets...
I decided to put all of my main clothes, (tops, skirts, jackets, dresses, etc) onto a big clothing rail to keep them nice and neatly hanging up to make sure they don't get creased and to keep them organised so that I can get to them easily. My wardrobe before was in no particular order, however when rearranging my wardrobe and transferring my main clothes onto a clothing rack I decided to put them into a certain order so that I can find whatever is necessary for that certain occasion. So, I put all of my casual skirts at the bottom right and as you go left the skirts become less casual and more dressy, leaving my going out skirts at the bottom left. I also put my dresses on the top left so that all the more occasion-based wear is kept at the left, and the casual at the right. As you can see from the picture, the top right contains a lot of casual jackets and outerwear so that if I am wanting to go for something more casual on a perhaps colder day (it's England so this isn't rare), I know exactly where to look :)

Well I hope this little guide on how to organise your wardrobe helped you out on how to arrange your clothes in an easier, more handy way! Not only does it make picking out outfits a whole lot easier, but also gives your room so so much more space and makes your room look a lot nicer, bigger and also more modern! The open clothing rail look is really in at the moment, so I thought I'd jump on the trend. Let me know how you organise your clothes! Thanks for reading...

  5. Well, you really have a whole lot of clothes that could definitely eat out the space in your closet if not arranged properly! Anyway, I had just been arranging my wardrobe recently and I found hanging trousers in hangers could be much better if each trouser had its hanger but that would take up a lot of space; so I also decided to fold them. And I also agree that shoes should be kept well to avoid tripping now and then.
