My Top 5 AFFORDABLE Skincare Products | Spring 2018 ♡

Over the past few months I have really been getting back into the whole routine of skincare and actually looking after my face... surprisingly. From past experiences with strict skincare regimes, I've been made aware of how expensive looking after your skin really can be; which is why I decided that I wanted to find some amazing products for amazing prices.

Something I have always struggled with growing up as a teen with dry, oily and sensitive skin, is finding the right products to actually calm my breakouts without the irritation. So, I finally decided to go on a huge hunt to find 5 affordable skincare products that actually work for me.. (and don't make my skin feel like it's been set on fire with a match). The whole process did take time, but with a lot of persistence and a lot of patience, I managed to finally find some affordable products that actually did wonderful things to my face.

It's so hard to find decent, genuine skincare products out there that don't cost an arm and a leg these days, so when I miraculously found these absolute bargains, I could not be more excited to feature them on my Blog! And hopefully be able to help out other people like myself, who are after affordable but good quality skincare products :)

1. Nivea Daily Essentials Refreshing Facial Wash Gel | £2.20 - Boots
So this face wash actually really pleasantly surprised me because I was expecting the texture of the product to be quite thick and gooey, however it was not at all; it was very thin and almost watery - not sticky at all. This is a good thing as it means that it doesn't feel heavy on the skin and actually applies quite smoothly and lathers easily.
There is also something really beneficial about this facial wash which is that it contains Nivea's own Hydra IQ, which Nivea say instantly invigorates the skin which then helps to protect the skin from environmental influences and also premature aging. I use this face wash every morning when I wake up, and I leave it on for just 1-2 minutes followed by then washing it off with warm water, and I can honestly say that after just one week of using this product alone, my face felt and looked noticeably softer and smoother than it ever has done before!

2. Nivea Daily Essentials Sensitive Caring Micellar Water | £1.50 - Wilko
As you may already be aware, Micellar Water is an absolute gem for taking off make-up effectively. However, you can never be too careful with make-up removers as there are often a lot of harsh and harmful products in them which we don't actually know about, for example brands such as Garnier were reported to have PHMB in their Micellar Water which is a chemical that can be used for removing carpet stains.
So, when picking my make-up removers I am always extra careful; which is why when I found the Nivea Sensitive Caring Micellar Water, I couldn't be more impressed. Considering I suffer with extremely sensitive skin, there was absolutely no burning or stinging sensation whatsoever, and my face wasn't left completely red and sore. If anything, my skin felt extra clean and soft after removing my make-up with this product, as it also deep cleans the skin which I felt as though I could definitely notice!

3. Skin Therapy - Tea Tree Facial Wash & Sensitive Skin Toner | Both £1.00 - Wilko
These two products were both only £1.00, and after realising this I was rather sceptical about whether they would be suitable for my skin or not. But, I thought I would give it a try and I was really surprised by the fact that they both did amazing things for my skin! I would definitely use them together as I think they really work well together to cleanse and look after my skin. They both smell amazing and really sweet, especially the Tea Tree Facial Wash.
The facial wash is a very light texture and lathers smoothly into the skin. I felt no stinging or irritation, just a really fresh, tingling feeling on my face which was the Tea Tree! As for the toner, after I wash the Facial Wash off, I apply the toner, and it makes my skin feel really fresh and clean. Again, no irritation - just a fresh feeling which is all you can ask for in a toner really. So overall I was really impressed with these two bargain products which work really well together to make your skin feel fresh and as clean as ever.

4. Nivea Daily Essentials Gel Cream (24hr Moisture + Express Primer) | £5.25 - Superdrug
This product is one of my favourites out of the five, because of how amazing my skin not only feels but also looks after using it! The Nivea Daily Essentials Gel Cream works wonders for my skin, and makes it look and feel so fresh, so clean and so smooth! The texture is quite like a runny gel, not too thick but not too thin. It's a white cream and blends into the skin really nicely, as the skin absorbs the product almost straight away.
I use this moisturising gel cream every morning before applying my make-up, as it contains an express primer which is honestly better than any other primer I have ever used! It really primes the face well, making the application process of my make-up nice and easy, and I have even noticed that my make-up stays set for much longer with this built in primer on as a base. My skin always feels really nice once I have this product on, and as mentioned above it really does make my make-up look a lot more flawless when applied beforehand.

5. Lush Bunny Moon Facial Mask | £6.95 - Lush
Last but not least is my absolute favourite, the Lush Bunny Moon Jelly Face Mask! Now I have always been a huge fan of Lush, especially the face masks, however I used to find that a lot of the time my skin would feel quite sore and begin to sting after using the natural face masks. So, I went on a mission to find a face mask suitable for my dry, sensitive skin, and I succeeded. I found the jelly masks! Once you go to the jelly face masks, there's no turning back.
This was the best discovery I ever made. The smell, first of all, is just sooooo nice - it smells of honey and syrup. The mask is very smooth and the texture is, surprisingly. a lot like jelly. But it lathers really nicely into the skin and creates a layer of mask once applied to the face. A thick, generous layer is needed and then what I do is leave the mask on for around 15 minutes as recommended, before rinsing it off with warm soapy water. The mask always makes my skin look amazing and feel really refreshed, even drastically reducing the appearance of blemishes. But the reason why this mask is a saviour of mine is mainly because of how moisturising it is on the skin, which really helps me with my dry skin as it provides a lot of moisture, which eliminates dry skin which I have definitely noticed.

♡ So that is My TOP 5 AFFORDABLE Skincare Products of Spring 2018! I really hope they helped and gave you inspiration to go and try them out for yourself.
